The Dashboard Can't Tell You Everything
Analytics answer how many and where. Conversation answers why, and what nobody thought to measure.
What quantitative data does well
Measurement is not the weak partner here. Data tells you scale, distribution, trend and performance with a precision no conversation can match. It identifies where to look, catches drift early and keeps opinion accountable.
Any argument for field interaction that treats analytics as unimportant is a bad argument.
What interaction adds
A dashboard records that a step lost people. A representative standing in a store hears the sentence that caused the hesitation. It might be a term the customer read as a commitment, a competitor promotion mentioned three times in an hour, or a question about installation nobody anticipated.
Reactions, body language, unexpected comparisons, the objection raised before the price is mentioned — these arrive as context around the numbers, not as a replacement for them.
Using both
The pattern we work toward is simple: measurement tells the team where to look, field interaction tells the team what is going on there, and the next iteration of the campaign carries both.
Experience creates insight. Presence creates perspective.
